BREAKING: Ex-VP, Alex Ekwueme dies. — 20th November 2017. Former Vice President of Nigeria, Dr Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme is dead. A statement from his family signed by his brother and the traditional ruler of Oko in Anambra State, Igwe Laz Ekwueme said that he died by 10:00pm in a London clinic, Sunday. The statement read: “Ekwueme family regrets to announce the peaceful passing away of their patriarch, the former Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Dr Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme GCON. “The sad event occurred at the London Clinic at 10:00 pm on Sunday 19th November 2017.” Ekwueme had slumped in his Enugu residence, and immediately taken to the Memfys Neurosurgery Hospital Enugu, where he relapsed and went into coma. The Police High Command has said that it did not withdraw the security aides attached to Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano as being reported in the media ahead of Saturday’s election. Kaduna State Teachers Saga: pot calling kettle black. I'm appalled with Buhari's assertion over Kaduna State education saga. How ironic that a man whose educational qualification and certificate is still firmly shrouded in secrecy is casting aspersions on Kaduna State teachers? But again, in all fairness; his assertions are in order except that one cannot help but a bit bother over such statement coming from a man who  budgeted N61Billion for Education in 2018 Appropriation Bill. The big question is; how would Nigeria educational system competite with the best in the world as he asserted to his supporters with such meagre budget for education? Governor Ganduje show of shame. Over the weekend, Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, carried out an empowerment programme for Tea sellers otherwise known as Masu Shayi in the state. While delivering a speech at the empowerment programme held in the state capital, Governor Ganduje, told guests at the ceremony that his administration spent N208 million to buy Noodles, Tea, Kettles, Beverages, liquid and powdered milk, baskets, cups, nylon bags, spaghetti, and other materials needed by the 5,200  Masu Shayi  (tea sellers) that were empowered. Nigerian Army Sergeant Kills Army Captain, Four Others Before Killing Himself In Chibok  A Nigerian Army Staff Sergeant, Silas Ninyo (93NA/36/2608), shot dead Captain T. Mani, who stopped him from beating innocent civilians in Chibok, Borno State, and four others before taking his own life on Sunday. An Army situation report (No.64) exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters stated on Sunday afternoon that a team of soldiers, led by one Captain T. Mani (N/14430), was providing security for worshippers during Sunday service in Chibok and received a distress call that Staff Sergeant Ninyo was beating civilians for unknown reasons.                             Captain Mani, accompanied by soldiers, moved to the scene and freed the civilians. But while trying to disarm the errant soldier, Captain Mani was shot dead by Staff Sergeant Ninyo, who later shot himself dead after killing four others.       ...

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha on Monday visited former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme, who is receiving medical treatment in a London hospital. Background: Ekwueme was admitted in a hospital in Enugu after suffering a chest infection. President Muhammadu Buhari later ordered that Ekwueme be flown out of the country for treatment. What is happening: In a tweet via its handle, the presidency said the SGF also conveyed Buhari’s goodwill to Ekwueme.

POLICE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND Men of Nigeria Police Ibusa division caused this accident just now by chasing a truck driver who refused to stop at their post into the bush. They immediately turned their vehicle after the driver crashed and fell unconscious.  I saw them entering their vehicle and started chasing the truck, they overtook my vehicle along Ibusa road close to Ibusa junction. Thank God people saw the police chasing the truck driver and witnessed the incident.  The unlucky driver would have lost his life.
