F-I-N-A-L-L-Y: Buhari blows hot on New Year Day Killings in Benue. *S'Kaduna and Rivers State pending. In light of the recent reaction of President Buhari to the gruesome murder of the innocents in Benue, we must call a spade a spade, and commend him for taking the right step in the right direction to address the incessant mass killings in Nigeria - this is what is expected of a leader. While we commend him for his reaction we must also point out that we aren't deceived that he didnt' call the killers by their names - suspected Fulani herdsmen. And he didn't directly reprimand them, probably because he is the grand patron of MACBAN and the suspected killers are probably his kinsmen as many Nigerians claim. Furthermore, while we question the ease with which the suspected Fulani herdsmen beat security outposts to unleash these mayhem, time and time again, we will keep our eyes on Buhari, this time around, to see if the perpetrators of these crimes against human...

The section provides a consequential provision for the making of the local councils, a full third tier government without undue interference from the state governments. The amendment was one of the 22 others approved by the House of Representatives last week and ratified by the Senate on Tuesday. Both chambers had through a conference committee harmonised versions of the amendments into the constitution carried out by each of them last month.
