BREAKING NEWS: Mamman Daura is DEAD!

Ambassador Mamman Daura who is the former Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Technical Aid Corps(TAC) has died yesterday. Daily Trust reports that Daura died yesterday after a protracted illness and will be buried on Thursday after funeral prayers slated for 2:30pm at the Emir of Daura’s palace in Katsina State. He was Nigeria’s ambassador to Uganda for eleven years and had served in Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Belgium and Cameroon. Daura served as TAC director for two terms before leaving in 2013. He left behind his aged mother, wife, brothers, sisters and children.

News reaching us have it that some of the suspected killers in Benue State have been arrested. The big question is; is this a facade or 'business as usual' where a few suspects are arrested and released through the backdoor without convictions nor jail terms? Justice has to prevail this time. The Benue State Police Command says it has arrested eight herdsmen in connection with the recent attacks on some communities in the state. Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Moses Yamu, made the announcement in a statement signed by him, a copy of which was obtained by Channels Television on Wednesday. He said the suspects were arrested in two local government areas of the state following a gun battle with the police. “The Commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama, called for calm, as eight herdsmen – six in Guma and two in Logo (LGAs) – had been arrested in connection with the attacks,” he said.
