I advised AGF Malami to meet with Maina abroad - DG DSS . Director General of State Security Services, Mr Lawal Daura, said on Thursday that he advised Attorney General of the Federation, Mr Abubakar Malami, to meet with Mr Abdulrasheed Maina abroad. Maina is wanted for alleged pension fraud and is currently on the run from the anti-graft agency, EFCC. Daura, while giving his submission on Thursday to House of Representatives ad-hoc committee investigating Maina’s controversial reinstatement and promotion in the civil service, however said he advised him to do so in presence of a third party. “The attorney general of the federation sometime in 2016 or 2015 (can’t remember the exact day) because it was not through a formal document, placed a call to me when he was outside the country and requested me on a request he got through a source that Maina wanted to meet him.” “He wanted me to advise him whether to agree to see Maina or not in that foreign country.” “I responded t

FASHOLA HAS LOST IT: Nigerian roads are not bad.

Image
Nigerian roads are not bad, says Fashola. The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, on Tuesday said Nigerian roads were not as bad as many people were claiming; rather, he stated that the roads needed to be adequately maintained. He, however, noted that some of the roads had outlived their design life, some still within their design life, while others were being built. Fashola stated these in his keynote address at the United Nations-sponsored capacity building programme for the Federal Road Safety Corps, which was made available to our correspondent in Abuja by his ministry. He said roads that had outlived their design life should have been replaced and rebuilt, but they had not, and named the Calabar-Itu-Odukpani road as falling within this category. The minister stated, “They were built in the 1970s, and not only have they outlived their design life, they have had to deal with tonnage and capacities well beyond what their design intended. Obiano Security withdraw: who is lying to Nigerians?

The Police High Command has said that it did not withdraw the security aides attached to Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano as being reported in the media ahead of Saturday’s election. It said the Aide-De-Camp (ADC) and the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the governor were called to the command headquarters in Awka to attend Inspector-General of Police (IGP) lecture with other police personnel and security agencies to attend inter-agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) in the state. Buhari encourages modern day slavery and dehumanisation of Nigerians.

Image
BUHARI'S COMPLICITY IN MODERN DAY SLAVERY AND THE DEHUMANISATION OF NIGERIANS. The worst  form of injustice in a society is when a government sits idle and watch the dehumanisation of her people in a foreign land - citizens dehumanised and sold as slaves while the government sits on its head and watch. From time immemorial Nigerians have suffered many injustices; the Sahara and Trans-atlantic slave trade, pilfery/monumental corruption et al. But the height of it all is that the present administration brides itself, indirectly, on Human Rights abuses under Buhari. Buhari, whose leadership does not care for her citizens; the latest being the the disastrous and inhumane treatment being melted out to Nigerian citizens by North African Arabs,  Libyans to be precise. The pains of the injustice to Nigerians is less compared to the complicity in the injustice by a President who folds his hands, in indifference, while the disaster unfolds. It is as if he is wishing for more or a worst di

Read: Facts Have Deserted Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Faster Than Usain Bolt Again my attention has been drawn to disparaging comments made by Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu against former President Goodluck Jonathan and his administration. In the said comments, Mr. Tinubu said “The prior government used the public treasury as a private hedge fund or a charity that limited its giving only to themselves,” he said. “So much money grew feet and ran away faster than Usain Bolt ever could. That which could have been spent on national development was squandered in ways that would cause the devil to blush.” Speaking further, the former Lagos State Governor said: “Boko Haram would have taken more territory and more lives would have been lost to insurgency if Jonathan had remained in power.” I would now address these allegations point by point using verifiable facts. First of all, the only global

Teenagers who regularly smoke cannabis suffer long lasting brain damage and are in much greater danger of developing schizophrenia. American researchers say the drug is particularly dangerous for a group of people who have a genetic susceptibility to the mental health disorder - and it could be the trigger for it. Asaf Keller, of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, said the results highlight the dangers of teenagers smoking cannabis during their formative years. The study found that even short-term exposure to cannabis impaired brain activity, with the damage continuing into adulthood The study, published in the journal Neuropsychopharmacology, exposed young mice to the active ingredient in marijuana for 20 days. It found that their brain activity was impaired, with the damage continuing into adulthood. The past 20 years has seen major controversy about the long-term effects of marijuana, with experts divided over its long-term effects on teenagers. -[Daily Mail

A Glimpse Into Obiano’s Oppressive Govt. http://thenationonlineng.net/glimpse-obianos-governance-style/amp/ Valentine Obienyem There are many features to admire and appreciate about the Philosophy of Confucius, including his Canons, the Nine Classics, The Way of the Higher Man, Rectification of Names, and The Great Learning.  Like Socrates -- another great man – Confucius expressed his thoughts verbally and left us to rely on his disciples to read about him. As great as he was, he also admitted there were several things he did not know. For instance, when one of his disciples requested that he told them about the dead, he replied cryptically: “While you do not know life, how can you know about death?”. Asked what constituted wisdom, he answered: ”Only to give one’s self earnestly to the duties due to men, and, while respecting spiritual beings, to keep aloof from them, may be called wisdom”. At a time, Confucius’ disciples were unhappy with him for not being able to solve for them

Man (Buhari) without certificate stands with El-Rufai.

Kaduna State Teachers Saga: pot calling kettle black. I'm appalled with Buhari's assertion over Kaduna State education saga. How ironic that a man whose educational qualification and certificate is still firmly shrouded in secrecy is casting aspersions on Kaduna State teachers? But again, in all fairness; his assertions are in order except that one cannot help but a bit bother over such statement coming from a man who  budgeted N61Billion for Education in 2018 Appropriation Bill. The big question is; how would Nigeria educational system competite with the best in the world as he asserted to his supporters with such meagre budget for education? For more of  Buhari's perfidy with education and stand with El-Rufai please read: President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday threw his weight behind Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s decision to sack 22,000 teachers in Kaduna State who failed competency test and recruit 25,000 new ones. COUP SCARE IN ZIMBABWE . Zimbabwe was reeling Tuesday after the army warned it could intervene if President Robert Mugabe continued to purge veteran ruling party figures in an apparent effort to help his wife succeed him. Both the ruling party’s youth wing and the main opposition party called for civilian rule to be protected, while analysts called the crisis a potential turning point. Army chief General Constantino Chiwenga on Monday warned Mugabe to “stop” purges of the ruling ZANU-PF party after the president abruptly sacked vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa last week. Mnangagwa had clashed repeatedly with First Lady Grace Mugabe who is widely seen as vying to replace the 93-year-old leader when he dies. “We must remind those behind the current treacherous shenanigans that when it comes to matters of protecting our revolution, the military will not hesitate to step in,” Chiwenga told top brass at Harare’s King George VI military headquarters in an unprecedented intervention
